Oliver Rivas is a Lillooet/Vancouver based artist whose work focuses on political and social themes that play with satire and melancholy. Explore these themes in the gallery, meet the artist and watch him paint!
Oliver grew up in a small agricultural and fishing town on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. Coming from a family of artists, he was exposed at a young age to the work of the great Mexican muralists, which inspired him to draw and paint. He spent his teens traveling as a jeweller and street vendor in Mexica, the USA, and then Canada, which became his second home.
